2026 Cosplay Contest Changes
We heard your feedback, cosplayers! Based on community input, we’re updating our cosplay programming for 2026. This year, our Cosplay Contest is evolving into a juried Craftsmanship Contest, and we’re also introducing a Cosplay Parade for those who want to show off their cosplay without competing.
Why the change?
Many cosplayers asked for a greater focus on craftsmanship and clearer separation between competition and exhibition. The new Craftsmanship Contest allows judges to evaluate builds more thoroughly, while the Cosplay Parade gives everyone a chance to walk the stage and celebrate their cosplay—no judging required.
What’s the difference between the Craftsmanship Contest and the Cosplay Parade?
The Craftsmanship Contest is a juried competition that requires advance registration and focuses on costume construction and detail. The Cosplay Parade is a non-competitive option with on-site registration available at Cosplay HQ during the event.
